Marija Mandić (b.1990, Novi Sad, SRB) lives and works in Novi Sad. She is an artist working with photography, as well as text, drawings, and found footage. In her works, Marija deals with the questions of past and memory which she explores mostly through the familial context.
In 2023 she was selected as one of the finalists for the Mangelos award which is part of the international Young Visual Artists Awards network. She won the Fotograf Magazine (CZ) annual open call contest (2022) and in 2021 she received the VID Foundation for Photography grant for her work in progress White Bee. She has been the holder of the Dositeja scholarship assigned by the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the grant given by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic. In 2014 she received the Mali Princ Foundation award for achieving extraordinary results in fine arts.
From 2015 to 2019 she worked as a doctoral student lecturer at the Faculty of Art and Design in Ústí nad Labem (CZ), where she obtained PhD degree in Visual Communication.
